About Alicia

The thing I was the most excited about before coming to WSU was being able to be on my own. WSU helps students to become more independent while still ensuring that you are being safe and responsible. It allows you to experience what it is like to be an adult, but with a safety net. I was so excited to be able to decide what I do and when, whether it be eating, hanging out with friends, or studying.

My orientation experience made me feel 100% more prepared and got rid of the majority of my nerves about coming to college. It gave me a much better sense of the lay of the land, and I started feeling a lot more confident in knowing where different buildings on campus were located. I also stayed in the residence halls, which made me feel a lot more comfortable about living on campus. Overall, my orientation made me feel a lot more prepared and excited, and a lot less nervous.

I am double majoring in criminal justice and psychology and so far, am loving all of the classes. I also joined hall government and the Residence Hall Association which has been a great way to meet new people and gain some leadership skills! I am also working as a cougar connector, meaning that I give tours to prospective students which has been a lot of fun. One of my main goals for this upcoming semester is to get involved in study abroad through the criminal justice program!
