Transfer Orientation

Overview of your Orientation

We want to ensure we are supporting your successful transition to WSU. In-person orientation is required of all new students to WSU, including transfer students. You may attend any orientation session, including our Fall and Week of Welcome options in August.*

The educational experience you have gained is valuable, therefore transfer specific sessions are offered during all orientation programs and we will place you in a group with other transfer students who share your interests, goals, and questions.

As a transfer student you are eligible for priority advising and course registration before first-year students or even continuing students! No registration fees will be due until August 2024.

To access this opportunity follow these steps:

  1. Confirm your enrollment at WSU.
  2. Register for your desired orientation session.
  3. Complete the Pathway to Course Registration Modules. **
  4. Schedule your advising appointment. ***
  5. Attend New Coug Orientation.

*Students participating in Fraternity/Sorority recruitment are not able to participate in Fall Orientation due to overlapping schedules.

**The link to access modules will be emailed to you after completing step 2.

***The link to your advising will be emailed to you after completing step 3.

Continue to watch your email for important updates. If you have any questions concerning orientation, please reach out to 509-335-4242 or orientation@wsu.edu

Before your advising appointment:

  • Have unofficial transcripts on hand from all previous and current college level coursework
  • Be ready to discuss transfer credit and your academic plan.
