About Victor

Before attending orientation, I was excited to start college and gain independence, but I was also nervous about meeting new people, managing a busy schedule, and adjusting to living in a new environment. Like many students, I wanted everything to go perfectly, which made the transition feel a bit overwhelming at first. Orientation helped me realize that it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away and that support is always available.

My orientation experience was memorable and reassuring. Staying overnight in the residence hall gave me a real sense of campus life and helped me feel more comfortable at WSU. I met many new people, formed friendships, and learned more about the university, which quickly eased my homesickness. My Orientation Leader was especially impactful, answering questions and encouraging me throughout the experience, which made me feel confident in my decision to attend WSU.

I am now very involved at Washington State University as a member of the Forensic Club and Criminal Justice Club, a Cadet with the WSU Pullman Police, a College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador, an Orientation Leader, and a Teaching Assistant for Psychology. I also continue to pursue academic interests in psychology and criminal justice, particularly research related to law enforcement mental health and stress in high-risk professions. My goal is to use these experiences to better understand and improve mental health support within those fields.
