About Isabella
I was rather anxious about leaving my hometown prior to orientation. Moving across the
state to attend WSU felt like a big step for me because I had spent my entire life in the
same town. I had never been this far from home before, and I wasn’t sure how I would
cope. One of my main worries was that I wouldn’t be able to establish new friends as
readily because none of my friends attended WSU. Finding a balance between all of my
studies and extracurricular activities was another big worry. Since I had always been active
in my hometown, I wasn’t sure how to balance it with my academic obligations.
My orientation leaders were really helpful, courteous, and encouraging. My concerns were relieved
because they made me feel secure and addressed all of my questions. I was afraid about
what college would be like when I went to orientation, but I felt so much better at the end.
The friendly environment and the friends I gained totally altered my viewpoint. The
experience was fun, informative, and really helped me adjust to what was ahead. It made
the transition to college much smoother than I had expected.
At WSU, I am in my third year as a psychology major with a criminology minor. My
area of interest is forensic psychology, and my ultimate goal is to join the FBI’s Behavioral
Analysis Unit as an agent. In addition to my studies, I’m also very involved in campus life.
I’ve joined Resonate Church and am a member of their CORE Team. My spiritual and
personal development has been supported by this involvement, and I look forward to the
chances that lie ahead. Growing in knowledge and experience is something I’m looking
forward to as I continue my adventure at WSU. I can’t wait for you to start your experience too!
