Hawai‘i Orientation Program

What is Hawai‘i New Coug Orientation?

Hawai‘i New Coug Orientataion is an orientation session created for Hawai‘i and Pacific Islander Cougs hosted on the island of O’ahu, Hawai‘i! Students and their families from Hawai‘i and other Pacific Islands are encouraged to participate in this orientation program which centers on their experiences as they prepare for the transition to college and life in Pullman, WA.

New Coug Orientation is a mandatory program for all new students attending Washington State University. You are required to attend a session in order to register for classes. You’ll take part in learning modules, view college and department presentations, learn about student life, learn about campus resources, and meet one-on-one with an academic advisor to register for classes. Attending Hawai‘i New Coug Orientation will fulfill your New Coug Orientation requirement. You will interact with current students and WSU Alumni from Hawai‘i who will guide you through the program. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, make new friends, and fully immerse yourself in being a Coug.

New Coug Orientation is centered around preparing our students for their transition to university life. Because of this, there are portions of the program that are specific for students and families and supporters will not be able to attend with their student. If families and supporters wish to learn more about the university, academics, or programs, they may attend Family & Supporter Orientation portions of Hawai‘i New Coug Orientation which runs concurrently with all the student program.
