About Samia

Before orientation, I was excited to start college, live on my own, and become more independent. I was looking forward to learning more about myself outside of my family, although I was also a bit anxious about the cost of attendance and the major transition from high school to college. I wasn’t fully sure how to make friends or get involved in clubs, but I was eager to figure it out and start this new chapter.

My orientation experience was incredible and made me even more excited to begin at WSU. I met a lot of great people, made new friends, and quickly started to feel like I had found my place on campus. Staying overnight in the residence hall helped me better understand campus life and feel more comfortable about living away from home. Although it felt a bit overwhelming at first, it was a lot of fun, and my orientation leader had a big impact on my experience, making me excited to eventually give back in a similar way.

Academically, I am focused on my studies and working hard to maintain strong grades in my major. At the same time, I am actively involved on campus as part of the executive board of the Residence Hall Association, a research intern in a lab, and a conversation table leader for WSU’s International Student Center. I also participate in various RSO events across campus to stay engaged and explore new interests. Looking ahead, I am interested in studying or participating in programs abroad, as I enjoy learning, traveling, and getting involved in meaningful experiences.
