About Zoe

I love going on road trips, and since Pullman is about a five-and-a-half-hour drive from my hometown, my mom and I were able to spend a lot of meaningful time together during my transition. I ultimately decided to transfer because I wanted to find an environment where I could truly thrive. I was especially excited to learn more about my program, explore WSU organizations, and get involved in different opportunities as an undergraduate.

My orientation experience was very positive and welcoming. Both the orientation leaders and other students were friendly and easy to talk to, which made it simple to start building connections right away. I explored campus with new friends, met people in my program, and began feeling more comfortable in my new environment. Staying off campus in a local hotel also gave me a chance to see more of Pullman and get familiar with the surrounding area, which made the transition feel even more real and exciting.

I am currently entering my third year as a Psychology major. I will also begin coursework for my minors in Spanish and Contemporary Chicano Literature, and I am especially looking forward to my Behavior Modification class this fall. Outside of academics, I work at Hillside Café and Market, where I make drinks and serve food. I also enjoy spending time at the Chinook, the library, and the University Recreation Center. After graduating from WSU, I plan to attend graduate school to earn a master’s in Mental Health Counseling and eventually pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
