About Akari

Akari started at WSU as a first-year student from California. She says she wishes she knew more about how the weather changes in Pullman to be prepared with the right gear. Rain or shine though, she doesn’t miss a home game! Attending games and cheering on WSU is a fun thing to do with friends and provides a break from studying.

Akari applied to be an orientation counselor because she wants to meet new people and give back to WSU. She felt the most valuable part of her New Coug Orientation were the tours of campus buildings, especially those featuring student resources. Akari encourages new Cougs to make sure they manage their time well. She says, “You know what’s best for you and what you truly need to succeed at college.”
