About Aylinee

Aylinee attended La Bienvenida (LB) orientation when she started at WSU. She says the most valuable part was how LB included her parents and all the presentations were in Spanish for them. Her parents felt nervous about sending her to college, but this orientation helped ease some of that anxiety. It also helped Aylinee to feel confident she made the right choice. She is also part of CAMP and the program eased the transition to living at college and encouraged making connections with other new Cougs.

Aylinee chose to become an OC this year to step out of her comfort zone and build public speaking skills that will support her in a career as a teacher. Her favorite class so far has been Math 251: Fundamentals of Elementary Mathematics because the professor is the best. She shared she “loves the way Dr. Cortez teaches and how much she cares about her students. She makes the content fun to learn. I hope to teach like her one day!”
