About Andrew
Before orientation, I was excited to begin a new chapter of my life and experience the independence that comes with college. I was looking forward to all the new opportunities available at WSU, from getting involved on campus to exploring potential career paths. At the same time, I was nervous about stepping into a completely new environment and meeting so many new people. One of my biggest hopes was finding a group of friends and building meaningful relationships that would last throughout college and beyond.
My orientation experience helped turn those nerves into excitement and made me feel much more prepared for my first semester. Staying overnight in the residence hall gave me a better sense of what campus life would actually be like and helped me feel more comfortable in my new surroundings. While there was a lot of information to take in, my orientation leader made a huge impact on my experience by creating a welcoming environment and helping me feel connected. Seeing the difference they made inspired me to become an orientation leader myself so I could help future students feel the same sense of belonging and confidence.
Today, I am an Accounting and Finance student with a primary focus on accounting. During my time at WSU, I have become involved in organizations such as Innovation and Change, which has allowed me to connect with other students and be part of a supportive campus community. Through these experiences, I have grown both personally and professionally while building valuable relationships along the way. After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in public accounting and continue developing my skills and experience in the field.
