About Silvano

As an international student, coming to the United States to study at WSU was both exciting and intimidating. On my orientation day, I was nervous about making friends, keeping up with the schedule, and figuring out whether I would fit in. At the same time, I was very excited to begin my journey at WSU and experience everything I would eventually share with my family and friends back in Indonesia.

Attending Summer NCO was overwhelming at first, with so many new people and a lot of information to take in. However, the orientation leaders were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They explained everything clearly, made sure we didn’t miss important details, and kept the atmosphere relaxed and supportive throughout the day, which made the transition much easier.

I am currently a third-year Food Science major at WSU. I work as a lab technician in a food safety research lab, where I gain hands-on experience in my field. I also volunteer at my local church in Pullman, which has helped me connect with people from different backgrounds and build a sense of community while being far from home.
