About Sydney
Coming in as an out of state student from Dallas, Oregon, I was excited to meet new people and make new friends. I used the Involve website to see what was going on around campus, and I was able to find clubs that interested me, like the country swing dancing club and the molecular bioscience club. I was worried that there wouldn’t be anything to do in Pullman, but once I figured out the bus route, I able to explore downtown. I discovered that there is more to Pullman than meets the eye!
I loved my New Coug orientation! I was nervous to come to WSU since I did not know any alumni and I had only visited campus once. Orientation helped me figure out where things were on campus and some of the different resources available to me. Learning the different traditions of WSU really made me feel like a Coug, and I was excited to come back in August.
Now I am a fourth-year student studying genetics and cell biology with a minor in Animal Science. During the school year I work for student dining services, and other than the clubs I mentioned earlier I have also started volunteering at the animal shelter in town and I have found a church family that I love. After graduation I plan to attend graduate school pursuing a master’s degree in genetic counseling.
